New Nectar MD
Pieter Lips has been appointed as managing director of the UK’s Nectar multi-partner loyalty scheme.
The appointment was announced by Groupe Aeroplan, the international loyalty management corporation that owns and manages the Nectar programme, which is claimed to have 50% of UK households participating in the scheme.

Lips will be responsible for the management and continued expansion of the programme.

In his previous role at Nectar, he was director of client development responsible for existing clients and new business. In 2005 he was responsible for developing and launching Nectar Business, the extension of the Nectar programme into the business to business market.

Prior to joining Nectar, he worked at Loyalty Management Netherlands BV, which operates the Dutch Air Miles programme.

He will replace Nectar’s current MD Brian Sinclair who was a founding member of the Nectar programme and who has led Nectar for the last three years. Sinclair is returning to Canada to take up an executive position with Groupe Aeroplan at its Toronto headquarters.
