Couponstar makes two senior changes
UK internet-printable coupon and voucher promotional marketing solutions Couponstar has appointed two new senior members to its team.

Jo Malvern joins as product & marketing director for Couponstar’s CouponNET publisher network, whilst Stuart Sankey has been hired as sales & relationship manager. Both new appointments are part of Couponstar’s strategy to further develop its product portfolio and expand its customer base in the face of growing client demand.

As the former group brand & marketing director of online community Pigsback.com, Jo Malvern was involved in the launches in both the UK and Canada, with responsibilities ranging from member acquisition, retention, site management and ongoing product development. With hands-on commercial responsibility, she successfully recruited more than 700,000 members in the UK whilst managing a marketing programme which saw a continual decrease in recruitment costs. She also led the development of the product roadmap for the UK to enhance product delivery and improve the member experience.

Prior to joining Couponstar, Stuart Sankey held various roles at sales promotion companies including TLC and Cocktail Marketing, the latter of which he was a founding member and helped develop it from a start-up with four people to a business with two account teams of five people each. Latterly, Sankey was employed at TLC, the consumer incentives specialist, delivering a range of incentives to clients such as Kelloggs, Fiat, HSBC, Orange, Samsung, VEET, Herbal Essences ESSO in 23 countries. As product development director at TLC, Sankey was responsible for overseeing the creation and delivery of approximately 30 incentive promotional campaigns each month across Europe.

Couponstar says millions of UK consumers printed internet coupons (many for the first time) in 2008 driven by a 140% year on year increase in the number of coupon campaigns run by Couponstar clients. Almost 100 brands signed up to run internet-printable coupon campaigns redeemable at the UK’s largest supermarkets and pharmacy chains including Tesco, Asda & Boots.
