Nectar appoints James Frost as marketing director
Multi-retailer loyalty scheme Nectar has appointed James Frost as marketing director, replacing John Sheekey who has  been in the role since 2006.

Sheekey is joining Moneysupermarket.com at the end of May in a relationship management role on the money side of the business.

Frost joins the Groupe Aeroplan owned loyalty programme, from Unilever where his most recent role was European brand director for Persil.

Taking up the position this week, Frost will be responsible for all Nectar brand activity overseeing customer marketing, partnership marketing, the Nectar website, public relations and strategic planning divisions.

Sainsbury's, a founding partner of Nectar, claimed in February that the Nectar loyalty card scheme had become the biggest in the UK with 16.8m people signed up to the scheme. This is more than its two largest rivals, Tesco Clubcard and Boots Advantage card. The Barclaycard Freedom scheme, which launched in March, is open to all eight million Barclaycard cardholders.

Nectar has 14 partners including more than 400 online retailers and consumers can collect points through a variety of categories, including booking a holiday, paying household bills, buying petrol and eating out.
