Airport authority starts staff rewards
The British Airports Authority (BAA) has launched an employee reward scheme for staff working at London Heathrow Airport.
The WorldPoints reward programme enables the airport’s 94,000 workers – from retailers to airline staff and security staff – to benefit from eating, drinking and shopping at Heathrow.
The new staff WorldPoints card offers employees one WorldPoint for every £1 spent in retail outlets as per the existing WorldPoints passenger programme, but also extends the offering to include all Eurest cafes and coffee areas at the airport, giving staff an added incentive to their usual daily spend.
Employees can redeem their points online to receive £5 vouchers that can either pay for purchases outright or count towards money off.
Additionally, staff can exchange points for frequent flyer miles with selected airlines and combine with existing collections, or use points to receive discounts on airport parking.
Once logged into the WorldPoints website (www.baaworldpoints.com), staff are greeted by a personalised welcome page which offers links to exclusive staff offers and competitions.
“Airport staff wishing to join the WorldPoints programme should pick up a special leaflet available at roadshows being held in staff restaurants at Heathrow over the next four weeks. These leaflets contain a card that can be used straightaway, and all staff need to remember is to go online and register their details,” said BAA in a statement.
Employees that recommend a colleague to join the WorldPoints programme will also benefit from a bonus of 250 WorldPoints.
BAA Loyalty & CRM Manager Claire Burley said: “Many Heathrow staff choose to shop at the airport in much the same way they would the high street, but with the added bonus of tax free prices. Now staff can enjoy an even better deal by collecting WorldPoints for every purchase and take advantage of the exclusive offers available to airport ID holders only.”
