American Airlines launches Awards Map
AA members can see how far their miles will take them
American Airlines has launched a new Award Map tool, enabling its AAdvantage frequent flyermembers to check where their accumulated rewards will allow them to get flights.
The Map tool gives an expanded view of the award tickets they can book online based on the number of miles they wish to redeem. It uses a real-time, interactive map of American’s network, to allow customers to view multiple available destinations at once when searching for award travel.
To use the Map, members enter the number of miles they would like to use, the type of destination they would like to visit based on their interest, region and other search criteria they are accustomed to – including preferred dates, number of travellers and cabin preference. Once the search criteria are entered, Award Map conveniently displays available award tickets on the map.
“Award Map is specifically designed with our customers in mind to help make booking flights with miles easier than ever,” said Suzanne Rubin, president – AAdvantage Loyalty Program. “The intuitive layout and simple navigation of Award Map offers customers a robust, easy-to-use tool that makes searching for and booking award tickets much more convenient.”
The Award Map is a product of the American Airlines Development Program for Technology (ADEPT) initiative – a college recruiting scheme created to develop a technical talent pipeline for Information Technology.
