BA offers discounts for SME rewards members
Airline product follows example of rivals
British Airways is launching a new product for mid-sized businesses, giving discounts to business flyers who are members of its reward schemes.
The airline will give 5% discounts on a number of fares for customers tied into its loyalty schemes.
The Business Bespoke scheme will offer the discounts to members of BA’s On Business and American Airlines’ Business ExtrAA SME schemes who are members of BA, American Airlines or Qantas’ frequent flier programmes. To qualify tickets must be purchased through corporate travel agencies (TMCs).
Several of BA’s airline rivals have already had success with incentives targeted at SMEs.
The BA discounts are available on a wide range of long-haul routes and selected flights operated by American Airlines, Iberia and Qantas.
Richard Tams, head of BA’s UK and Ireland sales, commented: “Business Bespoke is a direct result of customer feedback. We’ve been listening to what the mid-market customer is asking for and we’ve built this option for them. It’s about giving them the pricing and flexibility they want and in turn building loyalty.”
