Coke praises US mobile loyalty offering
Telco wallet “boosts” card take-up
Coca-Cola has praised the effectiveness of the Isis mobile wallet being trialled by US telcos in encouraging take-up of its My Coke rewards card.
Rick Kanemasu, vending technology strategy, Coca-Cola North America Group, said that over a third of active Isis Mobile Wallets users in the pilot scheme being carried out Austin, Texas have loaded a My Coke Rewards card into their Wallet since the pilot began last October and 90% of these are new to the programme.
He added: “Coca-Cola is engaging with new and existing customers as never before and we look forward to expanding nationwide with Isis later this year.”
James White, CEO of another retail partner of the programme Jamba Juice, added: “Our offer program was successful in driving incremental foot traffic, increasing the frequency of consumer store visits and introducing Jamba Juice to first-time customers. We are now making plans to expand nationally with Isis so that all our franchisees can enjoy the benefits we have seen in our pilot markets.”
Isis has just announced that it will be rolling out its mobile wallet offering later this year. The consortium is run by three of the four biggest telcos in the US – AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile US and Verizon Wireless.
The wallet uses NFC technology to enable consumers to pay, redeem coupons and present loyalty cards with a tap of their smartphone.
