Eco-brand launches in Croatia
What is claimed as the first Croatian eco-brand has been launched in the country.
The range of Ekozona eco-products is a joint project initiated by ‘green’ food company Biovega and department store chain Konzum.
The line will be exclusively available in 30 Konzum stores around Croatia, mainly Super Konzums.
Konzum says the launch means it is the first non-specialised chain store in Croatia with a specially positioned and separate category of ecologically certified products.
The product line comprises 108 products from 14 different categories, selected so that regular products can be easily replaced with eco-products.
Konzum shoppers will be offered a selection of products from its fresh and packed programme, including cereals, muesli, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, pasta, legumes, oils, vinegars, spicy sauces, winter preserved food, juices, flour, and fresh fruit and vegetables.
Ekozona brand products are claimed to be GMO-free and entirely natural, with no additives, pesticides or sugar. The packaging contains the product name and also basic information and recipes for using the product, prepared by Jadranka Boban Pejić, the leading Croatian expert in natural nutrition, which will contribute to better product placement.
Darko Knez, president of the Konzum Management Board, said: “By introducing the Ekozona eco-brand, Konzum continues to develop its product line according to current world retail trends, given that an increasing number of customers are aware of the importance of ecologically manufactured food. These products are displayed in the outlets in a way that promotes this importance and makes them available to a large number of customers.”
