Esso chooses prepaid provider
paysafecard group, has teamed up with convenience wholesaler Lekkerland to supply Esso with their latest white label solution.
More than 600 Esso stations across Germany now offer their customers gift vouchers in denominations of €30, €50 and €100 via Lekkerland’s prepaid terminal “e-va“ (electronic value). The vouchers can be used for buying fuel as well as for other purchases at affiliated shops.
“One of the most important aspects when developing the gift voucher was that it would be easy to use – for the consumer and for the Esso shop staff,” explains Michael Mueller, CEO of paysafecard group. “With our experience gained during the past decade in developing payment methods, we have managed to create the ideal solution for all parties.” The strategic partnership with Lekkerland allows an easy integration of the gift vouchers at Esso via the “e-va” terminals.
Paysafecard gained a bank licence in June 2008 which the company says has proved essential for providing the Esso stations with the gift voucher scheme. The paysafecard group, headquartered in Vienna, plan further expansion of their white label business in 2010.
