Etihad starts point partnership with US carrier
Frequent flyer miles available on each other’s flights
United Arab Emirates national carrier Etihad Airways and American Airlines are offering their passengers the opportunity to earn frequent flyer miles on each other’s flights.
From the start of this month members of Etihad Airways Etihad Guest frequent flyer program members can earn miles on eligible American Airlines flights.
Similarly, members of American Airlines AAdvantage program will be able to earn miles on eligible Etihad Airways flights.
The carriers say they plan to expand the agreement later this year to include mileage redemption across the two airline’s networks.
Acodeshare agreement between Etihad and American, in place since August 2009, delivers a combined codeshare network of more than 50 destinations worldwide.
