Five UK marketers receive honorary IDM fellowships
The UK’s Institute of Direct Marketing has awarded its highest annual accolade to five marketers for their “exceptional contribution to the direct and digital marketing profession”. This year’s fellowships have been awarded to Chris Barraclough, Creative Partner, Barraclough Edwards Chamberlain; Mike Havard, formerly Managing Director, Verint Consulting; Amanda Phillips, CEO, Proximity London; Professor Merlin Stone and Heather Westgate, Chief Executive of TDA.
The new Honorary Fellows received their awards at the IDM Annual Lunch, where they were presented by guest speaker and former MD of the Evening Standard, Anthony Hilton. A further award was presented to David Cheek, MD of David Cheek & Associates, for his work in inspiring young people to enter the direct marketing profession. Cheek became IDM Educator of the Year 2008.
IDM Honorary Fellowships are reserved for a handful of inspirational marketers each year. In previous they have been awarded to Drayton Bird, Lester Wunderman, Sir Keith Mills and Sir Martin Sorrell.
The IDM is the UK professional development body for individuals and companies that wish to improve their direct, data and digital marketing effectiveness.
