mPOS provider starts loyalty scheme
SMEs can customise their own reward offerings
Mobile card reader provider payleven is offering loyalty scheme functionality to its SME customers.
The app enables merchants who use payleven’s plug in card reader to accept payments via their mobile device to create individual loyalty programmes and corresponding campaigns.
The German-based mobile POS company says the offering will also let merchants gain an insight into consumer spending and give them the opportunity to interact with their customers.
The programme is now being offered as an open beta-test and is available for payleven customers in Germany and United Kingdom with no additional charge.
payleven founder and COO Alston Zecha commented: “Just as with card payments, small and medium-sized businesses are left out of loyalty schemes.
“Loyal customers are essential in these times of e-commerce and multi-branch operations, since just a 5% increase in the number of loyal customers can increase turnover by 25% to 90%.”
The app enables merchants to create their own campaigns and define the number and value of the ‘stamps’ appearing on their digital stamp card. The merchant can offer rewards such as a free coffee is offered, or another unspecified gift after customers make a number of purchases over a certain value.
Immediately after the payment, customers can register with their email address via the payleven app. Afterwards they receive an opt-in email, which they have to confirm to gain access to a link where they can check their collected bonus points.
Merchants are provided with an overview showing which customers registered for the loyalty programme and how many points or digital stamp-cards they have collected.
Once customers have registered their contact details, merchants can communicate with them via email and invite them to visit their store again, or draw their attention to special promotions.
