Nectar signs points deal with travel site
Customers of travel portal Expedia can now use their Nectar points when booking a holiday online.
Travellers with a card from UK coalition loyalty programme Nectar can reduce the cost of an online booking by exchanging as little as 2,000 points, equating to £10 off the net booking value. An additional £5 voucher can be collected for every 1,000 points earned until the customer has reached 20,000 points. After which additional points can be redeemed in increments of 5,000. Customers can spend as many points as they like for travel on Expedia, providing they have sufficient balance.
Expedia says the move builds on its existing partnership with Nectar. Points are exchangeable against a variety of Expedia products including standalone flights, over 80,000 special rate hotels and a selection of ‘create your own’ holiday packages such as: flight and hotel; flight, hotel and car hire; Eurostar and hotel; and Eurostar, hotel and car hire.
Customers wanting to collect points on Expedia, can earn 200 points when booking a flight, hotel or car hire separately or 1,000 points for a package deal of any combination including flight and hotel, flight, hotel and car hire or a flight plus car hire.
Nectar has partnerships with around 350 online retailers.
