PayPal launches Advantage programme
Scheme for top buyers
PayPal has launched the Advantage rewards scheme for its top buyers, giving them special benefits such as dedicated customer service representatives.
Members of the program also receive faster dispute resolution, a 3% discount on all tickets purchased through StubHub, Promotion Previews (“hear about seasonal offers before anyone else”), and Special Rewards such as cashback offers and merchant discounts.
A new feature being tested on the programme is the ability to buy using PayPal (both on and off the site of the payment method’s owner eBay) and only pay when the goods are delivered.
The “Pay After Delivery” option allows sellers to check out as normal and select Pay After Delivery as their payment method, receive and verify their purchase and then if the satisfied PayPal will automatically withdraw the money from their bank account 14 days after their purchase.
Buyers also get a progress bar on the eBay site showing them how much they need to spend to qualify for another year of Advantage membership.
Buyers have to spend US$5,000 in the past 12 months to qualify as a PayPal Advantage member.
