Prepaid International Forum forms money transfer alliance
The Prepaid International Forum has formed an alliance with the International Association of Money Transfer Networks (IAMTN).
The two UK organsiations say their activities complement each other. IAMTN focuses on cross-border remittances, while PIF specializes in the prepaid card business. PIF’s members include MasterCard, GE Money, JP Morgan Chase, Amex, and TSYS.
Lady Olga Maitland CEO of the IAMTN, commented: “As an umbrella organisation for all sectors of the payments industry, it is natural we should take an interest in the prepaid sector which is growing at a phenomenal rate. Their global focus is important; the prepaid business acitivity is expanding fast in Europe but also in the Middle East and Asia.”
She added that the alliance with PIF will help both organisations in their endeavours in the international payments market.”Together we must keep the payments market worldwide informed of key developments. No sector of the global payments industry can operate in isolation. IAMTN sees it as an important role to provide co-ordinated information and support developments in the prepaid area.”
The PIF was launched in June 2007, as a not for profit international trade association for all organisations involved in the prepaid economy. Its membership is drawn from all sectors of the prepaid industry, and it is engaged in the development of industry codes of conduct and best practice.
