Radio Shack and Telefonica join Air Miles
Air Miles has signed agreements with two new retail partners in the United Arab Emirates – Global Link Communication companies RadioShack and Telefonika.
The agreements will allow customers to earn 1 Air Mile per 1 AED spent in any RadioShack or Telefonika stores throughout the UAE.
“We are delighted to welcome RadioShack and Telefonika to the Air Miles program,” said Awny Ahmed, head of business & CRM development, Air Miles Middle East. “RadioShack and Telefonika are leaders in their respective segments and by partnering with Air Miles they are offering their customers additional value in their purchases as well as rewarding customers for their shopping loyalty.”
He added that consumer electronics is emerging as a key growth sector in the Middle East. Rising regional disposable incomes, a large and technology hungry expatriate population and a burgeoning tourism industry have led to market reports suggesting sector growth across the Gulf at up to 30% for 2008.
Bashar Anabtawi, general manager of electrical retailer Global Link Communications, commented. “We believe partnering with Air Miles shall provide our customers with that extra value added advantage whereby they get the best deals in the market, with the best service and then of course free flights, jewelery and gold, adventure rewards and loads more, too.”
Air Miles allows members to earn and redeem points in a growing number of partners throughout the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain. Now in its seventh year of operation, Air Miles has more than 1.5 million members. Over 80% of Air Miles members have redeemed Air Miles or have enough to do so, and Air Miles claims to be the largest and most active retail database in the region.
