Repeat business drives Geeks programme
Online computer and electronics retailer Geeks.Com is offering customers a US$10 gift certificate to try a third-party loyalty rewards programme.
The website gets over 55-60% of its business from repeat customers, and shoppers who complete a purchase receive on their order confirmation web page an offer for the gift certificate if they click to sign up for a 30-day free trial of an online rewards programme from WebLoyalty.com. The gift certificate can be used for the shopper’s next purchase at Geeks.com.
The company says the gift certificate redemption rate was around the 90% mark and it was proving an extremely effective customer retention tool.
WebLoyalty pays its affiliate retailers $13 for each customer that signs up for its rewards programme, in addition to funding the $10 gift certificate.
Customers who sign onto the WebLoyalty rewards scheme can apply the $10 gift certificate toward any size order on Geeks.com within 90 days, then send a proof of purchase to WebLoyalty to receive a check from WebLoyalty.
WebLoyalty’s rewards programs offer discounts on consumer products and travel services from more than 500 e-commerce sites.
