??Sprint, the third largest telco in the US, has started a scheme that rewards people for referring new customers.
People who refer a friend to Sprint by March 31 will receive a Sprint Referral Rewards Visa debit card. Referrals are made by going to Sprint’s website and entering the names and addresses of friends.
Once a new customer’s account has been active for 30 days, Sprint says it will send the referrer a US$100 debit card while the new customer will get one for US$25.
Sprint is looking to rebuild its customer base after losing 1.3 million subscribers in the last quarter of 2008. In February it launched the Sprint Premier Customer-Loyalty Program, which rewarded loyal customers with perks, privileges and discounts.
The latest limited time period offer has a maximum of 12 referrals per customer, and subscribers must have active service for 24 hours before making a referral.
Referred customers have to contact Sprint and complete the referral process within 15 days of their activation. Referred/referring customers must maintain an active account for 30 consecutive days to receive the reward.
