Tesco the UK supermarket that is also a bank, is pushing its currency exchange service by offering loyalty rewards.
In an interesting cross tie-in of services, Tesco says that those customers who buy foreign currencies on their Tesco credit card will receive Clubcard points.
Customers will receive 25 Clubcard Points for purchases in store only for every £250 of currency bought. A cash advance will not be charged either.
Tesco will also buy back any unused foreign currency and travellers’ cheques commission free, no matter where they were bought.
Consumers are advised not to leave currency exchange until the last minute, as rates for exchanging money in airports or ports is often much more expensive than on the high street, Tesco warned.
